GREAT 8 EVENTS
What is GREAT 8 ?
GREAT 8 is the end of year celebration for Lanier Middle School’s 8th grade graduating class of 2009! It is a unique opportunity for 8th grade parents, students and administrators to celebrate the accomplishments of the entire 8th grade class through various events scheduled in May. This is a parent driven program paid and organized by the parents of GREAT 8 students.
DUES are $50.00 per student.
(The dues cover the cost of all GREAT 8 events and a GREAT 8 T-shirt.)
Great 8 Events ($50 Dues)
· Friday Night Dance (Tentative date – May 15)
This is a themed dance which will be held at Lanier. Professional DJ,
refreshments and surprises in store for GREAT 8 students. Dressy attire.
· Class Outing (Tentative date - May 27)
A day party at Dave and Busters. Students will be given a Power Card to
enjoy the day games and having fun!
Refreshments and transportation is provided.
· 8th Grade Breakfast (Tentative date - May 28)
A delicious breakfast on the last morning of school served at Lanier.
(This is not cafeteria food!) Students will be able to autograph yearbooks
during this morning farewell class party.
· Commemorative t-shirt
Class of 2009 t-shirt with a logo specially designed by an 8th grade student
and 2009 graduating class names listed on back.
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS
GREAT 8 isn’t just about celebration; it’s also an opportunity for memories. In the spring, a professional photographer will come to Lanier to take a panoramic photo of the great class of 2009. With students going off to different high schools, this is a wonderful way to remember classmates!
Panoramic photo: $20
Start collecting your child’s pictures from 6th, 7th and throughout their 8th grade year,
these pictures will be combined with others for a commemorative
Class DVD.
Class DVD: $10
Remember… GREAT 8 dues can be paid at once or in payments, as follows: $20 - October 1, $20 - Jan 12, $10 - April 1

*Photo and DVD payments are due in the spring.
